When Your Life Starts to Become a Lifetime Movie

Ignore this post. It's cheesy rambling talk.
Preface: I went to college seeking a degree that was not my dream job. This was my problem. When I was a little 17 year old deciding on my major I chose not to go into art because it's a hard nut life as a struggling artist so I went with a stable career choice that I knew I would have absolutely no trouble finding a job in and then I would do art on the side. This was a bad decision. This is advice I will give my future children.

College degrees... we're too young when we pick them. I graduated this May with a degree in Speech-Language Pathology and about 2 months before that momentous day that I walked the stage I decided that speech path just wasn't for me anymore, it was like I finally "woke up" from the studying haze and parental pressures and realized that life is short. Life should be lived in the happiest most fulfilling way possible and what I mean by this is that don't put your dream job on the back burners. Going after your dream job can be scary and nerve wracking but my heart is in art or just something creative. Basically, I want to draw for hours on end or decorate cakes or be a photographer.
I didn't realize how strong this fire was until that day that I "woke up". And yes, I know this sounds cheesy talking about going after your dreams and maybe a little unrealistic but to use a quote that is so meaningful to me now, "Live the life you have imagined." - Thoreau
When my I tell my father that I've changed my mind, he is going to be so beyond furious. But now that I have this idea in my mind, I can't let it go. For the first time in my life I'm going to stand up for myself. I'm going to make my own decisions and I'm not going to cower and let someone control me. I am going to be strong. I am going to live the life I imagined. I refuse to be stuck in a job day after day, and year after year that I do not love. I will do what I honestly believe I was born to do. God gave me my artistic talent for a reason.
And this, not knowing my future, is thrilling. I can't even begin to describe it. I may be dirt poor for a while...well not completely; as always my mom backs me up 1000% and she understands where I'm coming from. I honestly don't know what I would do without her. I feel like I should get her some sort of trophy. Life after college, here I come.
-- I just needed to get this out, because I am going to have to make some hard decisions soon and I'm sure many fights will be had with my father. Fights I wish we won't have. I wish he could just understand. This blog is sort of like my diary and this is a post I desperately needed to make.

Valentine's Day...I would not become a fan of it on Facebook.

So Valentine's Day is almost here. Are you excited? I certainly am not. Around this time of year I question why this "holiday" exist...To help the economy? For the couples: money is spent on candy, teddy bears that are as tall as I am, and flowers. But for us single people, it's spent on tubs of ice cream, "I hate Valentine's Day" T-shirts, and if I was a drinking woman (which I am not) I would be spending it on some whiskey.
Ah yes, our singleness is thrusted into our faces. I sit here watching "You've Got Mail", one of my fav movies and at this moment it makes me hate Valentine's Day even more. Is it too much to ask for to find someone that you can truly love and that that person feels the same way for you? Maybe it is too much to ask for. Oh no, I'm sounding emo. But seriously, I get lonely. I'm content most of the time. I do things that make me happy, write/draw/ dance in my room singing showtunes in hopes to annoy my roommates, etc. but there are those days that I think everyone goes through. Where you think that you will never find love, that this fluff that appears in movies is just the mythical creation that someone with an overactive imagination, like myself, thought of while having tea and scones. Many say that love will find you when you are not expecting it. It don't expect it, and yet it is as fictitious/unknown as the Chupacabra ( did I just compare Love to a little creature that drinks goats blood? Oops, I think I did.) My point is that when there's good people in the world that all they want is to be cared for, to find that magical feeling that lies within the pages of a fairytale, it should not be so hard to find. Atlantis may be easier to find, hmm I'll go search for that next weekend. Anyone want to come? I'll bring s'mores materials-BYOS (bring your own stick)
I hope I'm not sounding desperate because I'm not, I don't need love. I wish for it. Just to experience that kind of love that I write into my book. Is it sad that I want to live my main characters life? Probably. But my life is dull and full of studying. So alas, hello Valentines Day. I do not welcome you. To those who do like Valentine's Day, I am happy for you. It's great that you have found someone :D

-I thought this picture was absolutely perfect. It was taken by my bulldogs vet's wife, Diana.

--I know my blog posts are few and far between, I tend to forget that I have a blog. A blog that noone reads but nonetheless that sits here waiting for me to feed it.

DFTBA! Love Yall.

Summer? It will be Epic in the Highest.

Howdy to all! Who is this you ask? It is I, the writer of this here blog. Yes, it has been a long time. I think only 2 people read this as I only have two followers ( Holla'! Shout out - Jess & Meesh) anyways, College as always puts up a Great Wall of Evil around everything creative for me, so I can't get to it. Can't draw or write or blog, you get the picture. I love education, really I do. But I just wish I wasn't sooooo busy. Seriously, creative things are what keep me going. Whenever I do anything creative, I get this...I guess you could call it a "Creative High" (legal in 47 states ;) ) it gives me this elixir of happiness that nothing else really does, a strong sense of purpose and euphoria. So I tend to get reallllllyyyyy annoyed with school, it takes that part of my life away that I cherish so much that I actually get sad sometimes when it goes away for too long. There's always those few moments, where I want to quit school and become a writer/artist full time. I would never quit of course, it's just not me or intelligent to do something so risky. I don't quit anything 98% of the time, not even my Evil American Sign Language (EASL heehe) class that I do bad in and have a severe like-hate relationship with. But yeah, I need my creative outlets, but even when I do get the haley's comet rare time where I do get to have my C-time (creative time gangsta style) I'm usually sooooo exhausted that all I want to do is lie in my bed and sleep. So ...I guess I'm a bit bitter with my education at the moment, a lot of the time I feel that I'm in a Lifetime movie where the kid is in college doing something that their parents want them to do to make them happy while they want to be a writer instead of a football player or an artist instead of a corporate exec., but the main diff is that I LOVE speech pathology, which makes those two loves battle against each other in my brain using lightsabers of course. But this brings me to summer because it is just yonder, which was the main thing I came to write about...Digress much? Definitely haha. maybe I should put a warning.... yes deinitely *WARNING: Ridiculously LONG blog* A few days ago, I saw a facebook 'button' that said "You know someone is a writer if they send you a text that is 3 pages long"... this seems to be true when I write just about anything haha Hopefully, I still have an audience at this point, prolly not but I shall keep writing just to humor myself.

----Okay right once again back to the topic/title of my post :D Okie dokie artichokie, so have you ever had that feeling that something amazing and so wonderful is about to happen?

Well that's the feeling I have about this summer, I'm not sure what it is going to be exactly- well I have a feeling of what it might be :D Put aside all the fabulous stuff i'm doing this summer Disney world and T-Con(gansta for TwiCon), this summer will = wicked seriously, this feeling I have is incredible! I hope it to be true, it's making me so anxious for summer that I can barely contain myself from dancing in the streets or singing in the rain.
And I don't think I have this feeling because I am in a severe need of a break from school; like I said I feel this may be the summer of all summer's, truly Epic with a capital 'E' as you can see! So yay for me...maybe if what I feel so strongly comes to be true :D I hope everyone else's summer time is wonderful as well!

So yeah, i'm going to stop typing now haha...
-=-=- I bet you are wondering why I have a Kookabura as a pic for this post it's because I love them...DUH! They're ADORABLE! Enjoy----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqzY3TuFlPM

Hello! Howdy! Hi! Aloha! Hola!

Hello Everyone! So, I decided to start a blog. Reason #1: Procrastination, I don't want to study for my Anatomy and Physiolgogy Midterm and this seems like a good way to keep me occupied for at least 15 mins. :D Reason #2: I like to write. I like to write books usually but hey, why not try blogs? I think it could be entertaining! Well for me at least...hopefully you as well. I've been known to pull out at least a few funny lines out of the randomness of my head occassionally ;) Reason #3 (the last and final): to show my drawings to people, I was inspired to do this by one of my absolute favorite artists/illustrators Brandon Dorman (check out his site, for reals.) If you look above all this aquaish text you can see my elephant :D I love elephants, I really do. This pic has a little bit of a special place in my heart, it was after this drawing that I really got back into my art. Instead of doodling all over my notes that I tend to confuse with my sketchbook or that I use to entertain myself with when the drone of my professors voice starts to act like a sleeping pill, an effective means. Teachers tend to not like to find out that the inside of a students eyelids are more interesting than them. Now,I take time to draw more seriously. Maybe get into the art business in the future, we'll see :D Okay so i'm done for my first post (I really do need to go study arytenoids, corniculate cartilages and synovial joints, etc.)... I probably should have said more about myself. haha hey there's always my next blog.
